Compton’s legacy of great emcees continues with Lifestyle’s forthcoming project entitled “Hard Knock Life 2″. Earlier this month we connected in his Compton stomping grounds to create the artwork for his project. We set to create a visual juxtaposition of old and new, and the cover image is what we got. A 2013 Mercedes Benz SL 550 and a very familiar Compton canal contrast to present the past and future. Compton’s freestyle emcee is ready to be heard. Keep your ears to the streets for its release.
Today I headed down to the Crenshaw District to shoot the new Streetammo video lookbook just in time for the Bread & Butter Tradeshow in Berlin. Our models for the shoot were Rimpau, BH, Shay Maria and Alysha Nett. We shot at different Crenshaw landmarks such as Slauson Donuts, Hungry Harolds and Mama’s Chicken. The footage and captures for the day came out amazing. Look out for the video premiere at Bread & Butter next month. Shout out to Mark and Elecktra from Streetammo!
A couple weeks ago I linked up with Mid-Town Music to shoot the cover of their new project entitled “Mid-Town Money”. Inspired by the classic Deathrow Records portraits that everyone loves, here’s what we created. Definitely one of my favorite covers I’ve shot and designed. Shout out to TeeCee4800, Nano, Reem Riches, and DJ Mustard. Keep your ears to the street for the release of the project. It’s definitely some hot music to ride around to this Summer.
This weekend my team and I hit the streets with Skeme to get a first-hand tour of his Inglewood stomping grounds. More details on this project will be revealed in the upcoming weeks. Thank you to Skeme, Wayne, Chucky and Alex for the great work.
P.S. Ingleworld is on it’s way. Photos and artwork by me. It’s going to be a classic!
Last week I met up with Uncle Snoop at Siren Studios to interview him on his latest project “Reincarnated”. I also got a chance to listen to his new album first, my personal favorites are “No Guns Allowed”, “Fruit Juice” and “Remedy”. I strongly recommend everyone check out “Reincarnated” in select theaters now. Vice Magazine and Snoop is a marriage made in heaven. Look out for my write up on the project in Juice and RIDDIM magazine next month.
My thoughts on digital vs. film, a preview of my new projects, and what’s on my iPod all revealed in my latest interview with French Magazine, What’s Up Doc. Interview available in both English and French. Read it here!
